Free After-School Program

The Bakersfield Police Activities League is offering a free After-School Program starting August 26th for children ages 6–17. Lace’n It Up 5K Run / Walk

Links for Life presents the Lace’n It Up 5K Run/Walk and 1K Celebration Walk on Saturday, October 4th at 8:30 a.m. at The Park at Riverwalk. The event features finisher medals, a vendor fair, food trucks, a survivor honor station, and awards by age group. Don’t forget to wear pink!

Kern County Veterans Stand Down

The Kern County Veterans Stand Down takes place Thursday, October 9th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stramler Park, 3805 Chester Avenue in Bakersfield. All veterans are welcome to connect with community resources and support services. No registration is required, but proof of veteran status is needed.

Kern County Heart and Stroke Walk

The Kern County Heart and Stroke Walk takes place Saturday, October 11th at CSU Bakersfield. The American Heart Association is inviting the community to join in raising funds to fight heart disease and stroke.
