Planned July concerts by Kanye West and Travis Scott in Reggio Emilia, Italy, have been called off after local officials raised public safety and order concerns.
Authorities cited security issues tied to the expected scale of the events, the close timing of the two shows, and the possibility of protests connected to West’s past antisemitic remarks. West, who legally changed his name to Ye, has faced repeated criticism and business fallout in recent years over public comments and online posts.
The concerts were expected to draw large crowds to the RCF Arena, a major outdoor venue that has hosted some of Italy’s biggest live music events. Officials reviewed the potential impact on policing, traffic, crowd control, and public safety before moving to stop the shows from going ahead.
Scott’s cancellation appears to be connected to the broader security assessment around the scheduled events, not to a separate personal restriction. No replacement dates have been announced.
