Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs Among Big Winners At 2021 CMA Awards

Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs were among the big winners at the 2021 Country Music Association Awards.

Stapleton led the laureates by winning in four categories, bringing his total of CMA awards to 14. Stapleton’s fourth album, Starting Over, was named Album of the Year, while its title track was adjudged the best single and song of the year.

The song was co-written by Stapleton and Mike Henderson. He also won the Male Vocalist of the Year award.

Stapleton’s producer Dave Cobb and mix engineer Vance Powell won two awards each.

Meanwhile, Luke Combs won the prestigious CMA Entertainer of the Year award.

Jimmie Allen became only the second person of color in CMA award’s history to be honored as New Artist Of The Year. He also performed “Freedom Was A Highway” at the awards ceremony.

Fiddle, mandolin and acoustic guitar player Jenee Fleenor was crowned Musician Of The Year for the third year in a row.

Other major winners include Brothers Osborne (vocal duo of the year), Carly Pearce (female vocalist of the year) and Old Dominion (vocal group of the year),

Luke Bryan hosted the event held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
