Evermore, Taylor Swift‘s ninth album that received universal acclaim from music critics, returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a fourth week. The album made a big leap from 74th rank to No. 1 in a week.
Evermore had a whopping more than 1,700 percent rise in album sales with 202,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending June 3, according to MRC Data.
Multiple factors such as 102,000 vinyl LP sales, CDs signed by the singer-songwriter and deep discounting on its digital album contributed to the massive surge in sales.
In all, Taylor’s albums have topped 53 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 chart, making her the artist with the third-most weeks at No. 1 behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.
Evermore, released in December 2020, topped the charts dated December 26, 2020, January 2, 2021, and January 16, 2021, previously.
